Tarun Chugh is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Bajaj Alliance Life Insurance Company (BALIC). He is a seasoned industry veteran with nearly three decades of experience in the financial services industry. He worked in the Indian life insurance industry for more than 20 years in leadership positions. Over time, Tarun developed a reputation as a transformational leader, driving tremendous evolution within the companies he worked for. His professional mantra is to design turnkey strategies and adopt disruptive initiatives to build sustainable long-term businesses that offer value to all stakeholders.

Whether it is turning around business functions or the whole organisation towards profitability, Tarun believes in delivering through teams that think innovation, leverage new-age technology, and are engaged and driven to offer customer delight. He is also known for his strategic orientation, and for building long-lasting relationships across stakeholder groups.

In addition to his role at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Tarun is a Member of the Governing Council of the Insurance Information Bureau of India. He serves as a Member of the Distribution Committee of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA). Tarun is also on the Board of Governors of IIM Sambalpur, and the Advisory Board of Christ University, Lavasa. He is the ex-Elected Member of the Executive Committee of the Life Insurance Council of India.

Tarun’s past professional roles include MD & CEO of PNB MetLife and the Chief Distribution Officer at ICICI Prudential Life. He also spent over a decade as an Investment Banker.

An alumnus of IIT Delhi and an MBA graduate from IIM Lucknow, Tarun is an avid reader and a tech enthusiast. His wife, Simran, and his sons actively engage with several causes around them, including working with Poona School and Home for the Blind, RK Mission, and more.

Bharat Kalsi is the Chief Financial Officer at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company (BALIC). He joined the Company in October 2019 and heads the Finance & Accounts, Products and Company Secretarial functions.

Bharat brings with him 23 years of experience across the BFSI and IT sectors. He has led Finance & Accounts, Business & Financial Planning, M&A, Corporate Strategy, Investments & Treasury, Investor Relations, and Product Management functions as a financial expert, and an astute business-driven leader.

Prior to joining Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Bharat was with Tata AIA Life Insurance as the Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for their Corporate Strategy, M&A, Business Development & Commercials, Analytics & Business Intelligence Unit, Marketing & Corporate Communication functions. Earlier, Bharat worked with Max Life Insurance, Canara HSBC OBC Life Insurance, Aviva Life Insurance, and the HCL Group.

Bharat is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from AICPA, US, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from ICFAI, India. He also holds an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Management Technology (IMT).

Anil P.M. is the Head of Legal & Compliance and the Chief Compliance Officer at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited (BALIC). He is a qualified lawyer with over 24 years of legal experience, the majority of which has been as in-house counsel with corporates in the insurance sector.

In his current role, Anil is responsible for providing strategic advice and opinions on legal, compliance, and business issues. The role also focuses on ensuring the Company’s compliance with applicable laws, managing regulatory audits and inspections, and preventing and mitigating fraud. Anil also represents the organisation in developing regulations for the positive growth of the sector. He continues to be a part of various IRDAI and Life Council Committees in his current role.

Anil has also worked with other leading life insurers including PNB MetLife India and Aviva Life Insurance. Apart from life insurance, he has worked with Quark Media House and BEA Systems Pvt. Ltd. Before switching to the corporate sector, Anil was practising law before the Madras High Court and had brief stints with a law firm and a telecom company in the USA.

Anil has completed his Bachelor’s in Law from Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai, and his Master’s degree in Law from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. He is married to Devi and has two children – Tara and Akshay. Anil is an avid off-road enthusiast and loves travelling.

Sampath Reddy is the Chief Investment Officer at Bajaj Alliance Life Insurance Company Limited (BALIC). He is the key force behind the Company’s fund performance that has helped strengthen customers’ trust in the brand. With over 15 years in the organisation, Sampath has leveraged his acute sense of fund management enabling customers to achieve their life goals by investing in the Company’s products.

Sampath leads a strong team of fund managers who have their fingers on the pulse of the Indian stock market, and who have been trained to develop long-term investment strategies. He works closely with the banking and financial services fraternity in India.

Prior to Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Sampath worked for nearly a decade as a Fund Manager with Principal PNB Asset Management, Voyager (Hedge Fund), HSBC Securities & Capital Markets, and ABN Amro Asia Equities.

Sampath holds a degree in Engineering and an MBA. He is also a CFA Charter Holder from the CFA Institute, USA.

Rajesh Shanoy is the Company Secretary at Bajaj Finserv Life Insurance Company Limited (BALIC). He works closely with the board, shareholders, and regulators to ensure the highest level of corporate governance in the organisation. He has over two decades of experience in handling complex matters related to SEBI and corporate laws, company secretarial, legal, financial, cost and management accounting.

Previously, Rajesh had a stint with Bajaj Finance Limited for more than five years. He has also worked with leading listed companies in the directional media and manufacturing space before moving to the BFSI sector. Post which he joined Bajaj Allianz Life Insurace in April 2017.

Rajesh is a Commerce Graduate, and a qualified, Company Secretary and Cost Accountant. He loves travelling, trekking, and riding.

Avdhesh Gupta is the Appointed Actuary at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited (BALIC). He joined the company in June 2019 and is responsible for Actuarial Valuations, Shareholder Reporting, Product Pricing, and Financial Risk.

A seasoned professional, Avdhesh brings with him over 15 years of experience in the actuarial domain. Prior to joining Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Avdhesh worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers as the Principal Consultant in Actuarial services. In his earlier stints, he has led multiple roles at Aegon Life Insurance Company, SwissRe, and HSBC.

Avdhesh is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI) and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK (FIA). He completed his MSc in Actuarial Management from Cass Business School, London.

Farid Valani is the Chief Risk Officer at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Limited (BALIC). He joined the Company in December 2008 and has led multiple roles in the Actuarial domain. In his present role, Farid is responsible for the risk management function of the Company.

With over 15 years of experience in the life insurance sector, Farid comes with an in-depth understanding of the financial risks of a life insurance company. He has diverse exposure in managing Statutory Valuation, Regulatory and Shareholder Reporting.

Farid completed his MSc in Actuarial Science from University of Kent, Canterbury, United Kingdom.
